The inaugral American Packrafting association roundup was held in beautiful Montana where over several days we explored the three major forks of the Flathead River. Local Dave Chenault provided us with great advice on where to paddle and shared some real gems with us. We felt priviledged that he shared these less known exquisite places
Glacier National Park and North Fork Flathead River
In July 2014 John McLaine and I visited beautiful Montana. The rivers were high with an unusually late snow melt, the forests green and lush and the scenery gorgeous. We met up with the inaugral packraft roundup of the American Packrafting Association - a great group of like minded people. Local Dave Chenault took us on a tour of the North Fork via Keeshineen Creek a route that took us through a nearly pure stand of Larch beyond Starvation Ridge. There was also widespread bear scats of variabe age.
